I couldnt give two shits if someone thinks that I am an asshole for having opinions about something. But I never said anything about verbally abusing people because they are fat. Prejudices are better kept to yourself in that situation as it does no good. Heck, I cant even counsel obese people about it because their poor little feelings get hurt and they complain to administration. The whole system is set up to enable this lazy behavior. Be it obesity, welfare, health care, whatever...
Not trying to slant anything. I'm just trying to find out why it's okay to treat them differently?
WHY is it okay for you to be less respectful to a fat person?Originally posted by VertnutI'd run my junk through a waffle iron, if it makes you more "comfortable". LOL!

But I just get tired of the news when people want a handout for them not living "right" (better). Sure, lets sue fast food for non-addicting food. The behavior of eating BigMacs might be a conditioned addiction, but it's not a chemical dependency. I know fuel and recession has affected airline fees, but I'm charged $25+ for my bags when it plus me are less than the guy I'm sitting next to?
Obesity is a problem, but its self-inflicted. So when you're (not direct at anyone here) pushing your grocery cart full of Tontinos pizzas with the electric car you're sitting in and I roll my eyes.....sorry.
I can jive with all that, and agree with many points made on the facts of obesity in general.Originally posted by VertnutI'd run my junk through a waffle iron, if it makes you more "comfortable". LOL!

I can't help but treat them differently.
In my feeble mind, it says a lot about a person's character, their willingness to give a shit. If you hate yourself enough to get that fat, why should I give a fuck about you either?
<--6'-3" - roughly 228 - and yeah, I'd like to lose about 20-25 pounds.Originally posted by Sean88gt View PostYes. Even more so since i lost weight.Originally posted by JC316 View PostDepends on the level of fatness. I am 5'10", 175lbs. My dad is 5'8" and 220ish, pretty chunky, but he is plenty active so people like him I don't treat differently. Now when there is some fatass that is plugging along on their hover round chair while stacking the deck at a buffet, then yeah, I tend to dislike them. When there is a herd of fatasses blindly wandering, looking for an unsuspecting meal to chow on, clogging up doorways and isles, they REALLY PISS ME OFF.Originally posted by GhostTX View PostDefine "respect"?

Where do you get off thinking they deserve it?

It's unattractive indeed. Would I EVER give them a disgusted look? NO Would I EVER treat them like a piece of shit? NO Would I EVER think of myself to be a better person than either of those people, knowing nothing else but the differences in our appearences? NO

Now that's just fucking rude. You have no clue where my angle stems from but you go ahead and step in waist deep by calling someone you don't even know... in my FAMILY a fatty? Time for you to fuck off Dr. Dave.

Also, when I see somebody get out of their car, that's parked in a handicapped spot because they're overweight, or use a little electric cart at the grocery store because they're overweight, it pisses me off. There are 80 year old women who could've used that handicapped spot or electric cart.
So yeah, I've lost a little respect for those people. Respect has to be earned.Last edited by jdgregory84; 12-20-2010, 04:41 PM."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

Better? I AM in better health.
Nothing different than appearance? There's more than just appearances. I could give a litany of things that are different, just on health alone. Factual base.
Lets not get stuck on the who's a better person on the inside (in the morals/personality). This isn't about skin color. It isn't about where they were born. This about the personal choices THEY made to be where they are physical condition. And that choice affects me, by...space...or by wallet, then I will form a strong opinion about it.
Now, to your point of disgusted looks and treatment, I will say that's over the line. Heck, I've corrected my kids from pointing and saying things aloud. However, I am going point out it is NOT the way to live (privately to them). That is not a lifestyle I support in any way."Self-government won't work without self-discipline." - Paul Harvey
