But i'm not fat, went to college, have a job, pay my taxes, and pay my own health insurance every month. Why should I focus on doing more, when I'm already pulling the weight (no pun intended) of many others.

Quick Excel copy-paste puts the average at 26.65% of USA pop. is "obese". So, roughly 81 million obese people in the USA (per CDC guidelines).

Since when does a bypass cost $100, let alone $10? Or insulin treatment? Or stroke treatment? Or cancer treatment?

Right there with ya...we paid almost $300k last year in income tax. Most of that goes to those lazy self-entitled POS's that refuse to work. You damn right I am gonna look down on those types of people and if you dont like it, you must be one of those types.

Now you're discussing an entirely different group of people Dave. I know more unemployed slender men than anything else. Looking down your nose at everyone draining the system, and looking down your nose at someone strictly based on their appearance are two different monsters.

So now that we've discovered all unemployed aren't strictly obese gravy train eatin' motherfuckers, what justification do you have for looking down your nose at fat people? Other than the fact you pride your dietary choices well above theirs. You're a better person because you don't eat as much at one sitting? You're a better person because you don't consume as many unhealthy items in a day as another? You're NOT an asshole by somehow saying you're better simply because you don't have an issue with weight?

They way you started off this thread and the way you're posting now are two different angles. The way I took your original point is that all fat people should be verbally abused, because they're fat so they deserve it.

I don't think that anybody is saying that they'll walk up to somebody and start ridiculing them out of nowhere simply because they're overweight. At least I hope not. They're still people, but there are probably subtle differences in how overweight people are treated compared to people that aren't.

But I just get tired of the news when people want a handout for them not living "right" (better). Sure, lets sue fast food for non-addicting food. The behavior of eating BigMacs might be a conditioned addiction, but it's not a chemical dependency. I know fuel and recession has affected airline fees, but I'm charged $25+ for my bags when it plus me are less than the guy I'm sitting next to?

Obesity is a problem, but its self-inflicted. So when you're (not direct at anyone here) pushing your grocery cart full of Tontinos pizzas with the electric car you're sitting in and I roll my eyes.....sorry.
