If you wanna be fat and disgusting, knock yourself out. Just don't be crying to me when airlines kick your fat a$$ off the plane because you occupy two seats and you're denied insurance coverage because you refuse to have a healthier life style. MOST obese people get there because of poor decisions. The people who can't care for themselves have legislated taking that money right out of the pocket of my three year old son, which is where it would go if I wasn't sending it to Washington in the name of taking care of old people, fat people, the clueless or whoever else.
I have no sympathy and feel just fine with looking down upon able-bodied adults who can't seem to care for themselves. Or ones who "just can't seem to catch a break". Old people and children should be cared for within reason, in a civilized society, not a guy who can't put down a fork. Exactly why I am I paying for his bad habits again? Why are these people on Medicaid? If he is privately insured, why doesn't he pay me to get up in the morning and go run at 4am to keep his insurance costs from skyrocketing? I am offseting that Ding Dong he is eating?Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

I don't walk up to every fat peice of shit I see and say "Hey FATTY put that burger down or give me back my medicare money!" maybe I SHOULD because being the nice guy gets people no where since there's plenty of people wiling to indulge others faults and say it's ok. I DO have the right as a taxpayer to say that some one who purposely fucked up their own body deserves subpar coverage when compared to someone who has the personal responsibility to take care of themselves even if they only do it to a minimum healthy level.
The thread started on the premise of "do you treat people differently because they're fat" and most answers were "you bet I do, they're gross people"
My call to arms sounded when I read the responses and initial post boasting about how cool it is to be so fucking cold hearted.

To answer the main question, No I normally don't treat fat people differently than other people. Everyone is the same in this world because at the end of the day we all eat, shit, and sleep.
But I will say this.....I feel for the people that simply cannot help themselves. Self control is a motherfucker. There are a lot of people in this world, and especially in this thread, that don't understand how hard self control can be at times. I have been a big person for most all my life. I have struggled with weight and exercise all my life. There have been moments where I workout everyday and eat right. And there have been moments where I don't give a fuck about what I eat and what I drink.
This past May I had a wakeup call. I stepped on the scale and almost broke that motherfucker. I weighed in at 334lbs and I am 5'11''. I can honestly say that I just wasn't seeing how big I actually was. I knew what I doing wrong but I did nothing about it. Since then I have been eating right, exercising, and living a much better life. I have managed to lose 70lbs in the six months that I have been into this. I feel the best I have felt in years and not to mention how fucking proud I am of myself.
When I talk to other people that ask me how I did it, I just tell them that it has to come from the heart. You can't just do it because you know you have to. You truly have to want to do it. Finally, I leave you with this. If I can DO IT....ANYONE can do it. For those that are struggling....good luck. For those that are doing it or have done it.....you can understand where I am with it all.

Going back to what I said about minding your own business, ie. focusing on your own flaws, if you had got a better degree, had applied yourself more at your job, or had worked more to educate yourself, then you would make more money... way more money than the pittance that the obese people cost you.

In honor of this thread I am going to my favorite pizza place at 5:30pm.
I'm going to start with a Caprese Salad: mozzarella slices topped with roma tomatoes and basil and drizzled with olive oil. For the second course I'm going to have a large white sauce (alfredo) pizza topped with chicken. For dessert a piece of tiramisu.
I'm going to be washing it all down with copious amount of Guinness.
Given the approximately 4000 calories I burned today swimming/running and mountain biking... I'm going to be about break even for the day.
Looking forward to my dump after my morning coffee.Originally posted by DennyI call dibs on Don's balls!

Do you think that there are things you could have fixed about yourself that would have prevented you from being in such a precarious financial situation?
