Emma Carney, once a pro triathlete, was diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia. She did retire because of it but still competes at a lower level. She did a 300km bike race in 2008. Her ICD did shock her heart but only because she "forgot" about her condition and decided to chase the lead pack.Originally posted by DennyI call dibs on Don's balls!

Oh.. but i don't pay into medic....oh wait i do. shit.
Maybe we shouldn't be mean to people because they're fat, but i sure as hell have no problem being mean to them for being leeches on society.
Ok, I know you didn't come right out and say it was the only problem in America so perhaps it's more fair for me to ask everyone who's entitled to give off a random shittly glare to fat people for merely existing in their line of sight for a moment, this.
Who else do you treat like shit on a daily basis? A) based on appearance and B) are a drain on the economy and more so your hard earned dollars?
We've covered the fat people... what about single parents? smokers? families on welfare? what about the unemployed?
I'm trying to think of everyday folks like you and I that are just trying to get by one day at a time that deserve to be treated like complete shit for poor dietary choices. That deserve to get a disgusted glare from across the room while they're trying to have a family dinner at a public eatery because they're fat in the eyes of another ......And they're of course getting this treatment by others, who of course, have NEVER had such things as the making of poor choices about what should / shouldn't go into ones body. People who have never put less than admirable things into their OWN bodies.

I don't take what you say personally kim, nor do I walk up to fat people and verbally try to get them to commit suicide (most of the time). I however lump obesity up there with the guy who needs a new liver at 40 because he drank like a college freshmen for 20 years straight. I have NO sympathy for people who waste their lives by over indulging in shit, poisoning their bodies, and then expect modern medicine to be able to save them at the last minute and help them lead happy normal lives. Maybe they shouldn't have had 30 JITB taco's a week for 20 years just like you'd say to a lifetime alcoholic maybe you shouldn't have put back a bottle of whiskey a day when he's on his death bed. Does it suck someone is wasting their life away to early grave in a fast food drive through? Yes, but 99% of time people don't get obese because of some psychological eating disorder they do it because of little respect for themselves and no foresight for their future.
I never said larger folks deserved to have folks feeling sorry for them for their dietary choices. I said it wasn't right to treat ANYONE like any less of a human being because of their personal choices to live however the fuck they choose to.
It will be a cold day in hell before I am rude, crude, judgemental, or otherwise unacceptable to someone based on their appearance. You can fix fat, but douchebaggery is much harder to get reversed
You're not paying for FAT people. You're paying for EVERYONE, get it? Babies born to uninsured folks everyday, injuries sustained by those with no health care, the free dental care provided to the homeless causes the prices you pay for your dental care to go up, so I guess we should go roll some bums after work too?
I went to the hospital twice last year with a bleeding ulcer. You paid for it up front. So did I, as I am a tax payer just the same as you. I got a break on the cost because I have no insurance and didn't have to pay up front for the medical attention though, so I guess it's okay for the doctor who treated me at the ER to give me a fucked up glance on the street because he knows I came in without insurance?
I guess my point is this... Where does the ignorance end? Since when does treating someone like a piece of shit for their appearance become a justifiable act? Last time I checked, that's what asshole bullies do in god damn grade school, not grown ass men and women who SHOULD know better.

I'm only upset at "big people" because American Airlines hates me.
If I have a last minute flight I'm typically stuck in the middle seat of a full plane between two three hundred pounders with breathing problems. Most of the times the attendants don't even know I'm there because I'm hidden underneath sweaty fat rolls.
Oh yea, the person in the middle in front of me is usually 300 pounds as well and leans their seat back.Originally posted by DennyI call dibs on Don's balls!
