  • No need to feel sorry for me...and especially not the patients that I see. I do not walk around picking on fat people. It's just my personal prejudice...everyone has prejudices and for people to come on here chastising others for their prejudices is hypocritical. As far as my patients, I am good at what I do and treat everyone with respect as it is my job to do that. And I do my best not to allow my prejudices affect the care that I provide. Your assumptions are flat wrong.
The attitude that you state about why fat people dont try is most of the problem. Feeling sorry for yourself because someone else picks on you so you eat more and have less desire to change your habits is just an excuse. I would already be working out with you if I lived up there...but I dont...and I just tore my ACL and broke part of my tibia in the knee joint so I am out of action for a while. But kudos to you for your success in losing weight and changing your habits. People give you shit about your weight because they care about you. Also, until I saw a pic of you on here I would have never guessed that you were heavy.

    • I am overweight. I am trying hard to get it under control. After messing up my knee, having surgery and realizing that I was cutting my life drastically short, I took control. Found a friend to help me understand my nutritional choices..etc.etc.etc....

I do look down on the morbidly obese who take all the motorized scooters. After having my knee operated on and going to the store, I did not get one of these fancy carts. Nope, I hobbled my fat ass around the store on crutches.

Since then, I am down 70 pounds. and still losing. I refuse to have fat elbows, chicken wings or be an embarassment to my son in years to come. I want to be the mom that they all talk about in a good way.

Being overweight sucks. You hurt because you are over weight. you know you should exercise, but you can't because you hurt. I didn't think that I ate that bad. We aren't fast food people. I just love to cook. I chose the wrong foods at the wrong times. Ate too late and didn't exercise. I know now what to do. It is hard and it will be hard for the rest of my life.

it sucks, but that's just how it is.....

My weight issue hasn't cost Kyle a dime, but his drug use has cost me. It's easy for him to preach on obesity when he has no chance getting heavy. With his natural metabolism, he can enjoy his munchies all he likes without fear of gaining any weight.
My drug use has cost you? LMAO!

The ONLY, ONLY way my "drug use" has ever cost you anything was if you were a resident of the city or county i was ONCE jailed in for a few hours when I was in college. Conversely their lack of giving a fuck about themselves will affect me every day I work, for the rest of my life.

The war on drugs isn't the war on marijuana. There's a shitton of states that have already decriminalized it, with more turning over every day. LOL. You're grasping for straws. My "natural metabolism" also includes cooking a lot of fresh chicken and vegetables at home, and being active in my lifestyle. Don't act like you got the short end of the stick and can't do anything about it.. you sit online and fucking post all day. Go take a jog, ride a bike, build something... anything to get out of that chair. It's unfortunate that you may have to put forth more effort than me.. but hey life's a bitch.

Fortunately it's something we have a chance to change.. unlike being born with large bones and a propensity for eating.

            • It's more of a state of mind like depression for obese people. It's nearly impossible to overcome depression by yourself without having a complete understanding of the process and an extreme motivation to accomplish it. I understand the physiology of it but that doesnt take away the physical response that I get when I see someone disgustingly obese.

You sound like a fat person making exuses who is still in denial they are solely responsible for their condition. If there was no demand for the product from people such as yourself, there would be no market for it and no reason to have so much of it imported into this country. You're part of the problem whether you care to admit or not.

As for my activity level, I guarntee I get more excersise and training in a week than you do in a whole month. You're simply assuming I'm doing nothing.

I'm not judging you for your drug use, that's on you if you choose to do that. I was merely making a point that everyone has their vices to tend with.

You may get more "training" in than I, but you're certainly not more active. I think that's painfully obvious.

The market you're referring to is largely catered to by our fellow citizens. I don't smoke shitty mexican herb, nor do i use the cocaine, herion, meth, or anything else that comes across our southern border. Why are they discussing obesity and taxing it, while they decriminalize marijuana? Becuause someone with half a brain realized that hey, the guys smoking a little herb at night after work aren't the ones costing us BILLIONS a year! Meanwhile, the largely obese population here at home has cost us in countless ways, other than just monetarily.

I agree completely. I'm sorry that my physical appearance offends you, but you aren't more offended by it than I am. You need to understand that being berated doesn't help anything at all and only makes it more difficult to stay motivated when you have someone trying to drag your positivity down with negative remarks.

To those that aren't suffering with being overweight, I can understand how you lack the compassion and patience with the emotional turmoil an overweight person suffers from. It's a death spiral that quickly gets out of hand, a very helpless feeling. To you "skinny" people, its nothing but exuses, and you're right. But when you're suffering from depression and withdrawls, it's hard to deal rationally and stick to a program and even harder to stick to it when you have people being cruel to you.
