The issuance and control over commercial driver licenses (CDL) is highly regulatory and must comply with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), as well as state statutory law. Although the individual states issue driver licenses, and the CDL is an endorsement to an existing state driver license, the terms and conditions of issuance or removal are generally all controlled by federal regulation.

Under the revised CFRs, effective in 2002, a second offense DUI/DWI is a lifetime ban of holding a CDL, and this includes whether or not the DUI/DWI occurred in a private vehicle or a commercial vehicle. A single conviction of DUI/DWI generally results in a one year disqualification of the CDL endorsement, but the licensee is eligible to regain the CDL after one year removal.

Probably doesn't help since you don't already have a cdl. Just contact DPS in Austin, I'm sure they can clear things up for you.
Yeah i know it is difference in each state. But because my lisence was suspended, I believe it is different because of that and I not having one prior to. That and I have about 2 accidents on my record within the last 3 years. I think IM SCREWED

can anyone shed some light on this?
May have to pull your driving record. I believe it begins the moment you get your first one and it falls off every 36 months from the date you originally recieved each one.

              Not really. Just statistics.

After 8pm in DFW, 1 in 8 cars on the road are driven by a driver under the influence.

In Las Vegas, that number is something like 8/10.

Have you gone down and applied? Have you talked to the judge who passed judgement on you? Is your record improved? You might as well ask the worst they can say is no. You don't have warrants do you? If so calling would probably be a better choice than going form there.

Don't need points if you don't have a license.
