E55 hands down, STS-V is lacking a lot of torque compared to the AMG. I think the STS has 430tq vs the AMGs 500+
You will need a pulley and tune to keep up with the E55

I wanted a BMW for months, even when I test drove them and realized they were complete shit I held out it was just the cars I was picking out. The nav unit sucks, the interiors are good, but they feel dated. I was not impressed with them, a M45 would be a far better purchase or a IS series lexus. I ended up getting a 425hp 300C SRT8.

When the BWM dealer quoted me $470.00 to swap some cabin air filters I decided it wasn't the car for me. You can buy the OEM filters for $45.00 and they replace in 15 minutes. Problem is the damn light will always be on. We traded it off not much later. They are not as nice as the price tag assumes.sigpic

I like the look of the 300C SRT8, but won't own a Chrysler product.
The Buick dealer had the STS-V on his books, but apparently it hadn't arrived at the lot yet. They had a silver CTS-V that he let me take out and romp on since I drove all the way down there for nothing. Impressive car. I didn't abuse it, but did a few WOT stoplight launches.
I've really gotta lay eyes on the STS-V to see if I like it. I really, really like the look of that silver CTS-V, so I'm hoping it looks just as good. I need to do some research on long term maintenance and cost of ownership and stuff, but I can't imagine it being anything like the BMW.
