I know they are older and I'm not sure what your price range is but there are some houses in the euless area near main and harwood which is near the 360,183,121 interchange that are not to bad. Been here 20 years and can count on one hand issues that have come up but 2 of them were kids running up and down harwood with a pellet gun shooting windows out of cars but they got like 25 cars through all the HEB area.

I'd reccomend staying in sw Arlington if you are planning on kids and don't want the expense of private schools. There is a reason the Oakridge school is over on pioneer parkway there. The ftworth schools in that area don't exactly have a stellar reputation. As far as the crime, if you get known as the crazy neighbor who rotinely brandishes firearms the hoodlums might steer clear. Just make sure your wife knows how to load and fire a shot gun. Leave the plug out incase there are a bunch of them and she needs multiple shots.Rich

I live in Bedford now, where we have some of the bravest, most courageous cops in America. Ticket you for turning right without signalling, probably shoot your dog if it barked at one of them. Crimestoppers? I think they call in the FWPD for the heavy lifting.

Follow the white flight. This area is full of places that USED to be nice but the low rent mother fuckers destroy everything in the path.
We moved way out and if we see it coming we will move out further again.
East Fort Worth crime statistics should be all you need. I would pass.

I can deal with nit-picky cops. In highschool I drove through Pantego and DWG daily. Not sure if this is Bedford, but when I exit 183 to go south on 157 I see people pulled over pretty often. I toe the line in that area.

I think the Neighborhodd is Woodland West
Originally posted by dville_gt View PostYa, the garden homes at the end of the neighborhood seem well kept. The neighborhood is kind of different in that it was developed originally during the late 70's as a upscale neighborhood, then in 2000's was further developed with some insanely large/expensive homes and those garden homes near the tennis courts. It has managed to stay well kept even the HOA being turned voluntary (read: powerless).

Learned a $50 lesson, know the neighborhood before you make the offer.
The neighborhood might have been ok, but I didn't feel like chancing it. Also the pictures were taken with a wide angle lens, every room literally looked twice as big as it really was. I've lived in Bedford for about 15 years or so now and it's still a nice place to live. Houses sell pretty quick around here since the location is good. DFW airport is extremely close and Dallas and Fort Worth are close.
I drive pretty normal around here and have not had a run in with a cop in a long long time, in HEB at least.
The neighborhood i'm in is off 121/Harwood behind Texas Roadhouse. There's a bunch of houses around here and it's pretty quiet. I would say houses run from 150-160k depending on how updated they are.

I found a few neighborhoods north of 820 I was trying to talk her into this weekend, trying to get her to move me a little closer to Cheaper than Dirt!
There really isn't much to attract people to the area, especially if you work east of there. You have the worst traffic in the metroplex that's exacerbated by construction, rapidly declining neighborhoods, Haltom City (which is already a shithole), tons of apartments, tons of small hotels and "extended stay hotels," and quite a few bars, etc.. Most of our run volume is from wrecks on the freeway, the extended stay hotels, and taking calls in those neighborhoods/apartments from 820 all the way north almost to N. Tarrant Pkwy because the station in that area is so damn busy and already out on b.s. calls.
If you want to live in this area, you MUST move north of N. Tarrant, at a minimum, or go slightly west of 35. Traffic will suck for your wife on 35, but that's better than living in a crappy neighborhood. You should look at N. FW/Keller area, maybe off of Heritage Trace or one of the streets up there, or my top suggestion, go west on 287, or in the Northwest School district off of 114. You could jump on 114 and head east, the wife could jump on 35 and head south, and there are back roads for her to miss the 35 traffic from that area.

I like that area off of 144 farther north but that would make both of our drives longer. We were considering Felony Flats and Hurst because they could lessen our drives. I would do it if it only made my drive longer, but I really don't want her to have to deal with a 1 hour drive to work if I can help it."A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

When we "go to town" it is either west on Bonds ranch to Sagiaw Main or East towards 287 and 35. 287 always flows 70-75 but 35 can be a bit of a bitch right now with the construction.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
