I still don't understand why anyone would have an issue with the things he did. He wasn't just a legendary car builder, he was also an astute businessman. Just think of all the times he lost money doing dumb things or was taken advantage of... oh wait, he didn't. He even got a BUNCH of suckas to pay him to sign glove boxes. Awesome. When the government pays, the government controls.

Meh. I just don't really care for the "Anything for a buck" attitude. I don't BLAME him for it, and can't really say what I would do in that situation, but it's just the sell out perception of it. I think it inadvertently diminished his accomplishments a bit, be that fair, or not. I still respect what he did though.

I understand that the proceeds for most of the "signings" he held, went to his childrens' cancer foundation. I also understand that he never really won any of the lawsuits against the "clone" companies, even though he spent a ton of money to protect his name. I spent a few seconds talking to him at the Mid-America Shelby meet in Tulsa about 20 years ago, and he came across as bitter and egotistical.

Still better than meeting Boyd Coddington. I swear he must have been on five tabs of Xanax and looked like he needed a drool cup at Autorama back in 06.
