Att VoIP is inferior to an att landline. The land lines have their own batteries in the central office to power the service. Or it can be powered thru batteries in a remote terminal. In the event of a power outage you can guarantee you're still going to have a dial tone. With voip, you would have to have a battery backup to have that guarantee. your modem will also have to stay in sync to provide service which might be difficult because uverse service requires a perfectly condition pair to run right. If it's in a downpour you could possibly have issues. Plain old dial tone will work just fine with minor metallic faults on the line.

are you getting 12mbps on a speedtest? I know the youtube servers get overloaded alot?

I had to open up a port for my slingbox.

yeah if i do anything else like watch porn or check out other websites that have to load videos they load quick and speed test i hit 12mbps no problems. This is only on you tube. I really didn't think you tube would have an overloading" issue. So i figured it was the att router blocking something.
