Just a heads up, if you don't hear from me again, I've been abducted by aliens. Off work for 9 days and doing a little 2000 mile NM/TX road trip in my 99 GT with my dog. Already hit Amarillo and Cadillac Ranch. I think Highway 70 that leads into Roswell could rival Route 50 in Nevada as "The Loneliest Road in America." I'll let you guys know if I see any little green men, and I've got a special DFWM tribute once I get down to Corpus, since I forgot my damn card reader.

Actually, she's black. And I already had a little brush with the Texas Highway Patrol outside Wichita Falls. lol I was doing 85ish+ in a 70 as I crested a hill and spotted him and laid on the brakes. He let me off with a warning and pet my dog instead of shooting her! It was the most stunning turn of events I've ever been involved in! (and I don't think he got the radar locked because I was on the motherfucking job watching for cops when I hit the brakes) Nice guy though! FTP!

I remember that the New Mexico leg of my drive 2 years ago seemed never-ending. Talk about a state full of nothing. Santa Rosa was a shithole.

I'll be heading through San Antonio(NM!) to check out where Trinity was detonated(or as close as I can get, missed the actual tour they give twice a year by a month), then down through Truth or Consequences and Los Cruces to El Paso. Aside from San Diego, and probably another trip to LA, I will be done seeing the SW US for a long time after this one. I haven't seen shit for cops in NM.

if it's on your way, drive up the mountain in ruidoso. it's not too far from roswell and the scenery was awesome. me and 9 other friends rode motorcycles out there and we took a whole day riding the mountain and all the hills and stuff around there. definitely a cool place for a vert

Probably won't be for a LONG time, I have several other trips to areas I've never been that are already completely mapped out and just waiting on my vacation to reup and fundage.

Yeah, I think I made it through the entire state w/o seeing one. The 80 MPH speed limit in AZ was a nice upside surprise.

Yeah, that was awesome in September. I can't figure out why the limit is 70 everywhere in this state I've been so far. There is NOTHING out here. Then you hit a town, and it drops to 25. Assholes.

I did have a brush with an Albuquerque Officer in 2000. He was in a Jeep instead of a squad, which I didn't think much of as I blasted by him at 20 over. Let me off with expired inspection, registration, no insurance card, and speeding.(Wasn't my vehicle, I was towing a Mustang to Vegas for someone else using their truck). I guess I'm just one charming dude.
