There is no personal accountability anymore, people always have someone else to blame, and everyone believes their kids never do wrong.

Prisons are big money, why would they ever let that cash cow die?

Our prisons are such a joke. If we ran them like South American prisons, maybe it would be an actual deterrent to crime. Thugs dont mind prison, they can all hang out with each other, learn new trades and gangbang in there as well.

Another shining example of the pussification of America. The guy plead guilty to murder so the prosecutor would take the death penalty off the table. He should have gotten the needle. The kid walked in the house while they were getting robbed and the guy shot him so there would be no witnesses. It was a cold-blooded murder.

I don't understand why they allow plea bargains under circumstances like this.

I'd take him out of the court house beat him in the head with a hammer and call it a day. That guy should die asap.

To negate the possibility of a hung jury, and secure a conviction. Perhaps there was an angle that the prosecution thought was less than rock solid, likely the age of the perp at the time of the murder, which could potentially sway jurors towards a lesser sentence. They probably also talked with the family of the deceased about the possible minimum sentence, and they were fine with the possibility of 20 years or whatever.

Maybe. I was thinking more along the lines that he figured a jury would be reluctant to give the needle to an 18-year-old that committed the crime when he was 16.

Gov't policy? Are you an idiot? WTF are you talking about? I'm talking about a murderer that plead to a lessor charge to avoid the needle.
