  • Broderick Patterson gets life for killing teen in FW. Look at his reaction.

What kind of people can raise this? I love Patterson aunts response to the media. His whole family sounds like a bunch of winners. To bad the death penalty was off the table.

    FOX 4 Link with video.

    FORT WORTH, Texas -

WARNING: Article and video contain graphic language.

Broderick Patterson on Friday was sentenced to life in prison for killing a fellow teen.

The 18-year-old murdered 17-year-old Eric Forrester during a 2010 Fort Worth home burglary.

Immediately, after the judge read the jury's verdict, Patterson cursed and then turned to look behind him at where his mother was sitting.

"I love you, momma, you hear me?" Patterson said.

Then, as two bailiffs restrained him and led him from the courtroom, the teen continued his tirade.

"All you all jury – f**k all y'all. Bitch ass ni***s," Patterson said. "State, f**k you, too, puss-ass ni***s."

Prosecutors said jurors were stunned and some shaken by the outburst. But, Prosecutor Christy Jack said she's actually glad it happened.

"I hate to say I'm grateful he reacted that way, but I'm grateful that the jury got to see the real Broderick Patterson. I think he demonstrated exactly who we've believed and who the evidence showed he was," she said.

Outside the courtroom, the chaos continued, with one of Patterson's supporters cursing at and then charging a FOX 4 photographer.

Patterson's aunt later said she feels the juvenile justice system failed her nephew.

"Broderick should have been placed in a boot camp facility. There should not have been time, after time, after time for him to continually get a slap on the wrist for the things he was doing. There's no help for our youth out there. But it takes something tragic like this to happen before anyone pays attention," Shery Pulte said.

Apparently the teen was arrested multiple times in 2009 for burglary, a purse snatching and an assault at Southwest High School. In fact, he was on probation for burglary when he and his co-defendant in the case broke into Forrester's home.

He was 16 years old at the time of the crime but was certified and tried as an adult. He pleaded guilty to capital murder.

Patterson's co-defendant, 18-year-old Clifton Elliott, is still awaiting trial.

Here's Patterons's mother on the stand pleading for her son.

"We are all hurting," Patterson's mother, Wynette Perrin, told jurors Thursday, weeping. "I am so hurt for Mrs. Forrester. I go to an empty room every night. She goes to an empty room every night. As one mother to another, I know she is hurt."

But she urged jurors to consider rehabilitation for her son, who was just 16 at the time of the shooting but was certified to stand trial as an adult.

"Y'all can hate me and hate my son, but he had to make that decision to come here and plead guilty," she said. "My son is very humble. He's not a coldblooded killer. He's not a gang member.

I was watching fox last night and saw this. I was shocked to see that the family of the killer stated the system has done them wrong. Why can't the parent's take some damn responsibility for their and their kids actions. I hate that we the tax payer's have to let this guy be a mooch and have a roof and 3 meals a day now for the rest of his life. Ropes cheaper....

Agreed, that low life, punk ass thug should have a date with the needle... sooner rather than later.

He deserved what he got. Death would have been too good for him. Now he has a life of man love to look forward to. Good riddance.

Too bad he wasn't shot during the commission of one of his prior felonies.....could have prevented a murder.

The government is going to take our money either way, might as well torture some lowlifes with it all if they are going to take it anyways.

I personally don't want my tax money feeding, housing, and providing health-care for the little cocksucker for the next 60 years. A .05 alcohol swab, a .10 needle, and about $3 in chemicals would rid society of his sorry ass.
