You know that malls and dept stores have policies in place that state it is not shoplifting until the "suspect" (because they have not commited a crime yet) leaves the property..then it is theft.

Maybe next time I am at a restraunt with friends, we can all get up at the same time and go to the RR and see if any of the staff tries to tackle us...

I am stating that a waiters wages should not be in a discussion regarding tips. Why should I (the consumer) have to make up for the establishments (employer) lack of compensation? It seems that whenever tips are brought up so are the wages and in my eyes their wages are none of my concern.

I tip based of service and amount of food (value) that I am ordering. Not "oh, well the service was okay at best but they don’t make that much, here let me give you some sympathy money"...

Shitty service = NO tip
Good Service = 10%
Great Service=usually $10 - $20

Yep. 90% of the time it's a class issue. More people than you think stiff waiters at very high end restaurants. With Europeans, it's because tipping isn't customary there. With midle Easterners, it's being tight asses. With black people, it's being broke, and lacking class in most cases

Where the fuck do you eat? If my wife and I go eat the bill is usually 30-40 bucks. 10% vs 15% ranges from 3.00 - 4.50 or 4.00 - 6.00. that's 150- 200 pennies.

But what if you had a party of 5+, as in the case in question, and the service/food was shitty. do you think you should still be required to pay the 17% gratuity if everything was below standards.

I think that is when a manager should be brought into the situation and let him handle it.

Pisses me off to no end when a waiter doesnt get a tip because the food sucked. He didnt fuckin cook it!
