Sometimes you just have to do things in self-preservation. Not calling a cop a pig when he's got you pulled over writing tickets is one of those times.

I considered naming this thread "Who dismembered my baby?" but figured people would find it insensitive.

I fail to see a problem.

I'm a ridiculously heavy sleeper. Clock alarms and fire alarms don't wake me, but if there is a baby in the house, a baby sneeze, cough, whimper, or cry down the hall will rip me out of a dead sleep. It doesn't even have to be my own child. Aren't most parents like that?
Unless he was effed up, wearing ear plugs, or the baby was dead before the dog got a hold of it, I can't fathom not waking up. The whole story makes me sick.

When they were itty bitty and in a bassinet in the bedroom, a change in their breathing would wake me. It was especially bad during that age window where they're at the greatest risk of SIDS. I was paranoid with all three.

yup i know what you mean, ive often wondered how parents let this happen.

i think a lot of them actually want this to happen, i mean what kind of idiot would bring a "stray" dog into the house with a baby?
