I recommend and install 280s or the Letro legend.

Stick with the older designs and only run it a little over an hour each day to get the most life out of them.

I usedto be a pool serviceman. I fucking hate Polaris with a passion (and Jandy). Get a kreppy krauly or a barracuda.

He has a pressure side cleaner and needs to stick with that style.

I own a pool service company and really like Polaris products. What is your beef with them?

doesnt know how they work, obvoiusly.

a full rebuild should be as good or better than new. If there was slack due to not replacing worn parts, you'll wear the others out quicker.

When I bought my house it had a 3900 that was all kinds of messed up. I busted out a screw driver and took it apart. It cost me around 80.00 and now it runs like new. This thing is bad ass. I also had to clean out the jets on it with a small pin needle. These things are like a RC car. Mine needed a gear set, three bearings, a couple of o-rings, and some some of the hose pieces fixed.

This is a nice kit also. Next time mine dies I am going with it and keeping the old parts for spares.

Good idea for them, everyone I dealt with loved the 280, but hated the 380.

21 at Spring Valley and Coit and 392 at Pleasant Valley and 190. I really wish I could forget stuff like that.

I agree that if he has a booster pump he should stay with a pressure side cleaner (not Kreepy, etc.).
