FOR A DETAILED DAILY SCHEDULE: Go to www.HotRod.com and click Event Schedule.
Credential Information
Registration: Upon arrival at your first cruise night, you must report to the registration area with your valid drivers’ license, no matter where you join the Tour. Follow the Hot Rod Power Tour signs as you get close. Once you have been to registration, there is no need to register at any of the following cruise nights. Preregistration lines are broken down alphabetically by last name. Each registration includes entry for the vehicle, driver, copilot, and one goody bag.
What Is a Long Hauler® The term “Long Hauler”® and copilot refers to those registered participants who complete the entire tour from Detroit, MI to Arlington, TX. Any registered driver and their copilot that complete this extensive journey is deemed an official “Long Hauler”®. The brave drivers and copilots that are present at all seven Cruise Nights and who complete the Long Haul are rewarded handsomely with an exclusive Long Hauler® gift along with participation in a group Long Haul photo.
Long Hauler Verification -- How and When? Anyone who has registered and paid for the full Tour and starts in Detroit, MI on Saturday, June 2, 2012, will receive instructions and a Long Hauler® credential / timecard (or other form) to use to check in at each cruise night. You must go to the “Long Hauler® Check In” at the Main Stage to have your timecard “punched”. It is your responsibility to get your card punched at each cruise night. ONLY PARTICIPANTS WHO HAVE THEIR CARDS/CREDENTIAL PUNCHED AT EVERY CRUISE NIGHT FROM DETROIT TO ARLINGTON WILL BE VALIDATED AS LONG HAULERS. Long Hauler® check-in will be open and available each day from 12 p.m. (noon) to at least 6 p.m. Please make sure you check-in each day!!
Lodging Information
Hotel Accommodations: To help you with your hotel needs, go to www.powertourhotels.com for a list of hotels that are close to the venues. You can secure the hotel nights all at once. If you have any questions, call 1-866-914-8922 for the most up-to-date hotel listings.
General Show Information
Morning Drivers’ Meeting: There will be an optional drivers’ meeting each morning before we embark on the day’s tour. The drivers’ meetings will be held at the same venue as the cruise night in each city unless otherwise noted. There you will be instructed on any route changes due to unforeseen construction, road closings, etc. Check the event schedule for details given at the event. Please make sure you attend these meetings to be up to date on the tour! They are not mandatory, but we highly recommend you attend.
Gas Stops: There will not be “official” gas stops listed in the driving directions, but there are suggestions for you to take advantage of should you need gas. In areas where gas stations are remote, we have them listed on the itinerary approximately every 50 miles.
Mechanical Problems: Stuff happens when you least expect it or are “in the middle of nowhere.” Join up with another participant, or tour buddy, at your first cruise night, exchange cell phone numbers if possible, and keep an eye on each other while driving from one city to the next. You are responsible for your own repairs as well as securing a facility to make repairs. Past experience has shown that if you do break down, you will not be left alone as many participants are more than willing to lend a hand. This goes both ways. Don’t assume “someone else” will help a stranded fellow participant. Lend a hand if you see a fellow participant in need of assistance.
Cruise Night: Each cruise night will open at noon and will go until approximately 7 p.m. No participants will be allowed into the Cruise night area before noon. Each cruise night will feature various prizes and activities to enjoy.
Directions: Tour directions will be provided at www.hotrod.com, and at registration in the form of The Pocket Guide. We will also have extra Pocket Guides available at the Comp Cams Main Stage.
Text Alerts: Sign up for Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour text announcements by texting hotrodmagazine to 40404. This will provide you with updates from Twitter of route changes, information, and promotional news from Hot Rod Magazine.
Long Hauler® Award Ceremony: The Long Hauler® Award Ceremony will take place Saturday June 9, beginning at 8 a.m. at QuikTrip Park. When you arrive, park as directed and you will be instructed to report for staging the Long Hauler® photo. Remember to bring your completed credential / timecard with you to the ceremony.
*VEHICLES THAT DO NOT HAVE A LONG HAULER CREDENTIAL WILL NOT BE ADMITTED.* There is no show Saturday, only a special ceremony for Long Haulers.
