Sure, it's absurd that a 6 year old had to be arrested, cuffed, and charged. But what other course of action would you recommend?

Teachers can't lay hands on a child. Administration can't spank, swat, etc. When you've got a kid ripping shit off of walls, and knocking over bookshelves, the child is a danger to others. The situation has to be isolated and rectified somehow. If it weren't for bullshit liberal laws, they wouldn't have had to take it to drastic measures, IMO.
Exactly correct. If the school did practice any sort of disciplinary action on the kid the parents could sue the district.

That's kinda part of the problem bro. Everyone suing everyone for the stupidest shit rather than getting to the center of the problem to deal with it properly.

The school has their hands tied, they can't touch the child that is out of control and really have no choice but to call the police. If they do try to control the child they get sued by parents.

I'll tell you, now that Emma is getting old enough to do more activities, I constantly find myself shocked by the extreme bad behavior by some kids. All kids are going to act out, thats what kids do. But I have seen a few kids who are just out of control temper tantrums and I'm SO glad I don't have to deal with anything remotely near that. We're talking kids that scream in public as loud as they can, throw anything they can get their hands on, run away from their parents screaming tearing shit up, even just outright hitting anyone near them including their parents and complete strangers. It's intense to see!

And unfortunately our society has made anyone who could have resolved this situation in a common sense manner unable to do what logic clearly dictates. Beat the snot out of that little shit until he understands who the authority figures are. Children are not people, they are animals that need to be trained. If my dog chewed up my Chucks I'm not going to give her a stern talking to.
LOL! Even people who don't know you, will be able to tell you aren't a parent after that comment. Beating a child is not the answer, more times than not, with alot of parents it's part of the problem.

I agree with everything you said, except for this. What else were they left to do? I'm willing to bet the Admin as well as the police involved felt fucking ridiculous doing what they did, but they had no other options.

Especially with the legal boundaries, and the absurdity of parents these days. Their children do NO wrong, they are perfect little angels. The parents would have reverted blame back to the school staff. "Well, you must have done something to piss her off." If they had swatted the child, lawsuit. If they had restrained the child, lawsuit. If they had called the mother immediately, there is a high probability the kid would have knocked over another shelf while they were waiting, and injured someone else's child; lawsuit. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. America is responsible for situations turning out like this. Not the police or the school admin.

lmao, wrong. And the situation presented below is direct proof.

That's a direct result of children who don't respect their parents, don't respect discipline, and don't have any exposure to boundaries. While I will admit that every child is different, and not all respond to the same discipline in the same manners, you can't run around with your head in the sand thinking kids act those ways because they are spanked. That's ridiculous. In fact, I bet you 12 times out of 10, it's because they've never had an ass whipping.

So you think a 6 year old deserves to be cuffed and thrown in jail for a tantrum ? Jesus fuck dude. And I didn't say anything about the parents, I'm talking about a 6 year old kid being thrown in jail.

Act like a little unruly bastard, and you will learn at an early age what happens to little unruly bastards.

So, you tell me. What would you have done? Keep in mind, you can't so much as lay a finger on the child.

It's a 6 year old. How hard is it to intimidate a 6 year old? Whole system is fucked.

Matt threatening to kick his ass has clearly made him tuck tail. Brent is a bitch!

MUCH harder to intimidate one when you can't touch them, snatch them up by their arm, or smack their sticky little booger picking claws.

I know exactly what to do if it's my kid. But when it's someone else's, and you're bound by the law and threat of lawsuit, it can be very difficult to do. Surely you can see that. Some of these little shits are real assholes, because their parents made them that way.

lmao! Not only am I defending it, I'm saying I'd like to see more of it. If the liberal laws won't be repealed, then let's start making examples and holding the sorry ass parents accountable. In a situation like this, toss the parent in the cell with them, so they can both have a "time out" to think about what they did. Too many people out there with children that have absolutely no business raising them.

Why even involve the popo? I get their handcuff policy, but they should have left the kid at the school until the parent picked her up. The whole assault charge by the principal is bs.

Eric said "beat". There is a difference between a beating and a spanking. We've all seen parents who have been forced to spank their child in public and sometimes the child is so out of control it has no effect at all.

It's not hard to intimidate a child at all. But sometimes you don't get the desired results you are looking for and only make things worse. Some kids, just can't be reasoned with, can't be spanked into submission etc. Chances are as you mentioned, it has something to do with the direct behavior of the parent who probably acts in a similar fashion. You know those parents, loud, obnoxious, complain in public places causing a scene, play the race card...
