How about setting up a kiddie jail in the front lobby of the school!?

Kids would have to stay overnight for stupid offenses (like this one). They get fed three PB&Js a day and water. They have to wear a padded helmet and padded mittens to keep them from hurting themselves in the cell.

The shame of sitting there like a goddamned fool in front of all your friends and their parents would instantly stop all this garbage.

I think calling the cops and cuffing her was the right thing to do. Putting her in the car and taking her to the station is a bit extreme IMO. The parents should have been called to pick her up from school. I would have left her ass sitting in the principal's office cuffed until they showed up.

Someone hit the nail on the head about suspending them so they go wild. If a child under the age to stay at home alone which I think 8 hours alone unsupervised is pretty high up there then make the parents show proof ie a bill of sale of a day care if not they are required to stay off work. I bet a week off no pay and those spare the rod folks will be beating a kids butt.

LEOs - Just to prove a point (and out of curiosity), how many calls a week do you go out on, where kids are reporting their parents for spanking them, or attempting to dole out some form of punishment?

One or two a year at least for me. We get way more of the ex's calling saying that the other party whipped or abused the child during visitation. Most of it is just a scheme to get full custody or cause drama. Anytime I get a 15 year old calling because his mom assaulted him I know he has been handled before. Most adults don't know what assault is so when the kids throw around that term it is funny.

Corporal punishment is great and all, but what about when you get something like this manster?!:

I was always bigger than everyone else, including teachers and principals, and even my parents. The beatings stopped around 12 years old when i could defend myself, and take the belt or paddle away. I remember my jr high pricipal just staring at me when i held the paddle in my hand and said, "you won't be using this on me anymore".
