I just got back from the Tucson, Az air show today. One of the planes that did a few flybys was a large dark colored plane with I think 4 engines of which had afterburners. I thought they plane looked badass and would like to see some pictures.

I also got to see a stealth bomber do a few flybys and also saw a f22 static display. Way cool!

Yep that's it! It looked badass flying then went straight up into the clouds. Way awesome.

My favorite bomber is the B-52 Stratofortress. They look AMAZING up in the air, like a work of art. I'm still amazed that something that big can catch air and fly.

I was driving to San Diego and saw a B1B doing a nap of the earth run, haul on its side and bug out of the area. Something that large and agile was incredible. I was surprised how short its run was at the top of the technology curve since the B2 and F117 followed so close on its heels. (compared to the b52)

A10 Thunderbolt is one of my favorites, it's pretty surprising at how quiet they are.

Yea those are stationed there so I always see them around. I heard they are getting ready to retire them. Any truth to that?

Maybe some but not all. Not many aircraft can do what it does as good as it does. If any at all..

This. They have been trying to find a replacement for the aging fleet for a while but the plane was just so well designed nothing today can really compete with it. I mean hell, it was designed to fly missing a wing. The amount of damage that plane can take and stay airborne just boggles my mind. The A10 will probably becomes the B52 of fighters; I see them extending its service life for a long time. In my opinion they should reopen the assembly line and order several hundred more instead of wasting money on all the other crap that the military does.

It's a fighter on steroids. Some of my work is on that plane. I love that jet.

The B1 is my favorite jet. They had one fly over the ballpark on opening day with full afterburners...my god that thing was loud!

I'm an avid lover of military planes. My all time favorite, the old Skunk Works secret that turned into the fastest manned jet ever made. I had a model of one hung from my ceiling as a kid for years.

The pilots of the B1B's at the Barksdale Airshow said sometimes they don't even carry bombs, they just let the sonic boom from doing Mach 1.5 @ 250' do the damage. That has got to rattle very nook and cranny just from the flyby.
