The warrantee has already paid for itself when I got a lifter tick taken care of, and I drove a brand new loaner while the BMW dealship had my car.
3k miles oil changes on a BMW? The last time I was involved with one on a lease, BMW would not even change the oil at 9980. When they say 10k mile oil changes, they mean it.

I'm in 100% agreement on the CPO from BMW, but remember that it is not free. It's usually 10% of the price of the vehicle, so you're gonna pay either way. 10% up front and no worries, or 0 and you assume all the risk.

My 328i gets about the same, do you get on it much?

You're right about the oil changes guys, my first one came up 3k miles after I bought it 2 years ago, and I haven't driven 3k miles since, so I had assumed that it had a high maintenence schedule. Just the opposite actually.

if I drove less than 1500 miles a year, I'd buy the most awesome, gas guzzling, hammer of Thor I could afford and enjoy

I didn't get the car based on gas mileage, I didn't think it would be appropriate taking clients out in a C6. As soon as I have a two car garage I'll have another toy.

I only have a 2.5 mile work commute each way, so during the week I don't all that much. The weekend she gets to stretch her legs a bit.

I'm not a fan of owning BMW. They are the most beautiful cars out there, but just not reliable. We just traded our 07 3 series in on Thursday for a Toyota. Ours was a pile, we bought it CPO though so had a warranty. But even the CPO warranty doesnt cover everything which sucked. I now realize why most people lease BMW and dont buy them, so they can be done with it before it runs out of the bumper to bumper warranty. Ours was in the shop once a month for countless issues. yeah, they provide loaners, but i'm like the other person that said, i wanna drive our car, not theirs for 1 week a month.
