  • Need some good vibes and prayers for Rhonda's dad....

He's back in ICU this evening. Currently he's in the cardiac wing and she's not sure as to why yet but will keep us posted accordingly.

Rhonda has been so strong and positive through all this but sure could use as many words of encouragement and prayer and possible.

Details are spotty, and I'm afraid of getting it wrong but long story short... 6/20/10 Dad had a seizure and after going to the hospital, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

Since his diagnosis, there have been good days and bad. He has progressively become more and more weak and sick. Several trips back to Harris downtown later, and he has now developed a new symptom. He was having serious chest pains today which is why they sent him to the cardiac unit at Harris downtown.

They will be testing him for leukemia in the very near future. Apparently a small percentage of cancer patients can develope leukemia due to all the treatment, and at this time they're not ruling it out as a possibility.

Please everyone pray for my best friend and her family. For someone who has such a heart of gold, she sure has been tested more than anyone I know and just when ya think they're catching a small break in the clouds, something else happens.

I'm going up there right after work and will keep y'all posted if anything changes.

Love you Rhonda and we're all here for you!!!

Man, that's too bad. Hope all goes well. I remember some time back that her father was willing to take my son up in an old WWII plane just because he asked. We never took him up on it, but just the fact that he didn't even hesitate was cool.

Yeah he's a super awesome guy. This year for my birthday there was a concert coming through that they mentioned to Rhonda and when she said how much I loved the Texas bands playing, they got a few tickets for us to come along for the party!

Back stage with No Justice, Reckless Kelly, Matt Stapp Band, Randy Rogers and a few more all night... all the alcohol you can bare to look at, Matt Stapp from The Matt Stapp Band sang me happy birthday and they had a birthday cake for me. It was totally awesome!

He is one of the original cool cats and will always have a special place in my heart Gotta show some love for the man that has been solely responsible for so much good in this world!

Stage IV brain cancer? GBM? Sorry to hear that. It has to be horrible for a child that grew up idolizing her father to watch the once strong man regress through the stages back to like infancy where he cannot do anything for himself. I truly hope they give that man some dignity and have a DNR/DNI on file. Fuck cancer.

Prayers sent, but she should not feel bad for his regression. It is not his fault, nor his wish, and he has no control over it.

She is strong for taking care of him, he is strong for fighting as much as he is, and OUR diginity is shown by supporting her and her story. By no means should we ever stop being proud of him or anyone else.

God bless him, your family and the strength and wonderful father he was while you grew up AND the wonderful father he is RIGHT NOW!

                        Yes, Stage IV GBM

She said they're doing the bone marrow biopsy this morning around 11, and the doc will be in / they'll know more this evening around 6ish and the family is all coming up around 5.

Sadly, so true. His tumor is suppose to be in remission so we just don't know what all this is about. I have suspected ALL lukemia for a while since his blood has been so bad... We are on the cardio floor (why we don't know) and on today's agenda is:

                            MRI
                            CT scan
X-rays of stomach/GI to see why he is cramping so bad
                            bone marrow biopsy
                            EKG
                            Chemical Stress test
                            Gas something blood test
and they took enough blood to test for EVERYTHING.

We JUST got out of here and are back becasue of his blood levels, shortness of breath, weakness, ect. He had a monitor on him while he slept that kept going off about the oxygen levels so no sleepy for us.

I'm trying not to complain because he is here and i'm able to talk about so many things that had he died of a heart attach or car accident, we couldn't have. But to see someone so strong, so tough... become so weak and shaky. Hard to watch him eat because of his hands trembling. He is a great man and a total car/plane/motorcycle guy LOL Anything that goes fassssttt

This was taken right before Thanksgiving. He had my car fixed (again) so we could cruise together. Love me some Daddy'O!

I’m too slow for the fast cars and too fast for the slow cars.
