Bonds are basically a way of guaranteeing that you show up for your court date. The money fronted for bond (release from jail) is returned upon you showing up and attending your court proceedings until completion. A lot of bonds are fucking ridiculous (for a reason), and a bondsman will front the money for you for a fee (typically 10%). Either front the 100% if you can afford it or pay 10% to the bondsman and he fronts the rest.

Usually violent felonies are 15-20%

The 10% fee is usually put on non-violent crimes like theft/hot checks, etc...

It seems as if the media is feeding tidbits of information that are going in Zimmerman's favor so that the black community will be able to be let down easy.

That still won't change the reaction, but it might help.
