Back to the original post...yes. The technology with cameras and microphones now and all manners of tracking people, we've set ourselves up for this. The abuse will come, no doubt about it, and the technology will be used against us. We already see it happening.

My 2001 Silverado is clocking over 325,000 miles. RCSB 5.3 .
Worst out-of-pocket mechanical cost was a $200 tranmission rebuild, at
270,000 miles.

I haven't put money into it in years, just maintenance.

the 5.3 motor is solid.. I havent had ANY probs with mine and it has 160k and the tranny has no problems either.. I need to drop it just a hair though.. later will follow with exhaust, stall, posi, gears and a tune.. it will be the "other truck beater"!! when i have the $$ to do that i will also buy a peppy sedan that's ok on gas(maybe a g8 if im lucky or a turbo import)
