[StanleyTweedle] I was just wondering, if you use soapstone in your whiskey, wouldn't that make your drink taste like soap? I mean I'm not a soapstone expert, but one would think that because they called it soapstone, that it would resemble soap in some aspect. I bet you could even bathe with it and get clean. Given it wasn't her he posted this thread...it's very likely to go either way.

[StanleyTweedle] I was wondering, I've heard of people using soap stone to mark steel when they are welding. I'm no welding expert, but I would think that if soap stone keeps my Thunderbird cool in the glass that it would also affect the temperature of the steel being welded causing one to have to adjust their welder settings. Also, if it cools the steel, one would think I could rest my drink, containing soap stone, on the steel, marked with soap stone, making both my drink and the steel cooler potentially causing both items to freeze bond to each other a la Mr. Freeze, Silver Surfer, or Terminator 2. I'm not sold on this yet. Needs further testing. [/Stanley Tweedle]

I got some of those whiskey stones for Christmas. I don't care for them, they don't really chill the whiskey to an acceptable level. The chill is so slight that it is almost unnoticeable.
I prefer a couple of ice cubes.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

I tried it out but it gave my kentucky deluxe a weird flavor and now i don't think i have any enamel left on my teeth. I would give this soap stone idea a 2 out of 10. [/stanleytweedle]
