I would talk to the person first, if the behavior continues, then yes I would escalate to her manager/supervisor.

lol. I work with tons of people. If you start slacking and start making me miss my deadlines because of your negligence then I am letting my high ups know about the problem before the problem makes its way to them.

I supervise roughly 25 people in my departments at work and in my opinion if this is going on then I would want to know. If someone comes to me with a problem like this usually the first thing out of their mouth is I don't like telling on people or even saying anything but we Have a problem. If someone is skippin out work early or slacking off then not only are you messing with my pounds per man hours but possibly deadlines . I don't have time for laziness and won't tolerate it

If you're not her boss, then it's not your issue. Granted, I can see how it may impact your morale or that of others, but it is what it is....Until her boss puts a stop to it.

Morale takes a hit when you have a freakin' loafer. It's also contagious as fuck. People start getting the, 'If Susan leaves at 4:45, I'm gonna start leaving a 4:45,' mentality, and the next thing you know, it's no longer the laid back honor system that you know and love.

She's in her first 90 days. She should be busting her ass to make the best impression possible. If she's actin like this her first few weeks in, it's going to get ridiculous when she's more comfortable in her job.

In my opinion, it is everyones job. There are tons of people out there willing to work and are still jobless. If you can't even work at your unsupervised job for a full 8 hours then what good are you?

Give her the rope to hang herself. Find something she should do during the time she skips out. During a day she does not show up make it seem something would have been done/ or information passed on had she only been there.....
