    Cobra

Well, I'll stick my neck in here. I have a DSG 03 that I've had for about 6 years. I would sell it for less than I bought it for and I've spent 8 to 10k in aftermarket stuff. It only has 21k miles on it. I've stored it in a shop with a dehumidifier and a cover and although it's not 100 point perfect, I still believe the car would be worth the asking price. If you can find one that hasn't been neglected, abused and was taken care of by someone with OCD, the only problem I could forsee is dry rotted tires. I know it's just a car but the longer you wait the less number of quality cars you could find IMHO. I love my car but at this time, it just takes up space and I will never drive it. In my ownership, it's never been driven in the rain and only has been stored inside. I assumed that sooner or later when I grew tired of it or needed to sell, the value of it would be a little higher because of the care that was taken of it. Maybe I'm wrong. Have a good evening guys.

Don't expect me to defend the value of the entire 03-04 market. I know how much I have invested in my car, and the current market value, which is a function of supply and demand\desire. If you don't think a certian car is worth xxxxx, don't buy it, but also; don't make a thread complaining about it.
Who the fuck are you? I wasn't complaining just making an observation. They could ask the fucking moon for all I care.

        Well Sir. Isaac Newton.
I was responding to your complaint\observation about me, since I am an 03-04 owner. If you didn't want a response, Why did you make this thread?

          Agreed.

A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. People like things for different reasons and it could be an endless amount of reasons. I think the 03/04 Cobras are an absolute blast to drive. Finding a clean, unabused one now is near impossible because of the cars popularity and how easy it was to make them fast with simple mods. So finding a clean, unabused one of course is going to drive the price up on some.

I love my 12 GT, it's a blast and will no doubt give some 03/04 Cobras a run for their money mod for mod. Honestly, I think the 11/12's are just an updated, more refined version of the 03/04's.

Something is only worth what someone will pay for it. If they are still selling at that price than they're obviously priced right. If they are still going for $23,000ish and would sell lickity split, why would those "dumb" owners drop their price.

            Edit* Screw you Steve! lol

This is exactly why I ended up with a C6 back in 08, I wanted a 03/04 Cobra, but after shopping around and making a few offers they were just too over priced. I offered 26k for an 03 with a whipple in dfw and didn't get it so I bought an 06 vette fully loaded with 29k miles for $26,400 and never looked back.

I've sold the car now, but as a weekend driver where it saw lots of full throttle it averaged around 18mpg. I drove it from Wisconsin to Texas going 75 most of the way and got 27.5mpg.

I'm not sure how long it's been since you've bought a fox but they are bringing alot. A nice one with tasteful mods are bringing 6-7k. Laugh all you want but I wouldn't sell my turbo hatch for less than 10k.

I got mine back in December from a buddy who needed the money. I got it for 20K and it's a 2.6L KB car. I made 606 whp and the car only has 31,XXX. I think that I got a fair price on it, but I think that if he would have just put it online under normal circumstances it probably would have started at $25K. Crazy but someone probably would have gave at least 23K for it. It's just the market. Not saying that they are better than the new ones, but it was an easy decision for me. Get a car that I've wanted for damn near 10 years, help a buddy out, and spend half of what I would have on the GT that I wanted.... and this one is faster. I don't regret getting my 04' at all. But I understand your views on the current market of them.
                            04 2.6 KB'd Cobra!

I've owned one and to be honest, I couldn't see paying $25k for one that wasn't mint with a built 4R70W in it.

I purchased my 03 in 08 with 21k two owner miles, all mods professionally installed with receipts and documentation, and a 9.5/10 overall car. Paid $18.9 for it. I looked at 4 before buying it, and spent a total of $1,200 on travel/lodging in the pursuit. I saw more beat to shit cars than in any vehicle search in my life. I'm talking down right neglected and abused, wore out suspension, chipped paint on the hood and bumper, etc. I had all but given up and was going to buy a C6. I couldn't imagine hunting for one now, but I do imagine once financing becomes hard to secure on them with their current age they won't sell for this kind of money.

I liked my pullied/tune/intake/highflow x pipe/catback 03 cobra better than my stock GT500. I enjoyed driving the 03, the stock GT500 feels slow and heavy. I've driven a new 11 GT and I wasn't really that impressed with it. The car I drove was close to $35k, which will also buy a really clean C6.
