Define "nothing." $7K could be a lot of money for a basic divorce, but not if there's a huge fight. I take offense to your comment that divorce attorneys are nothing more than degreed con artists. Your very limited experience with only 1 attorney hardly makes you an expert on the topic.

I had a friend just go through a $150K divorce. Not sure what the other side paid but I'm sure it was close to that amount.
