Craigslist has a bunch of trips listed all the time. I can't vouch for their quality or location though, just maybe a good starting point.

If you're looking for a weekend trip, you could always get hime a guided hunt or an exotic hunt that doesn't have the white tail seasonal restrictions. Price on those depends on what animal you want to take and the size of it.

Texas Hunting Forum has day/week hunts all the time posted, but the best bang for the buck is a year lease. Like already posted, a decent one is gonna be 2k or better. Once in a while you might find one for less that has good hunting, but its rare. There can be other expenses involved in a year lease too, IE; Camper trailer, blind, feeder, possably hog panels, etc. Some have this included already, but I like having my own equipment.

It can get up there too. I'm on a new lease this year and with the 2k for the lease and all the other goods, I bet I have spent 6k or better. Including corn for the feeders. Next year should be less than half that since I'm now have all my supply's and living quarters there.

Also, if you pick something near Brownwood, pm me. I'm from there and still have family there, so I might be able to advise on the location and such. I do not know of any right now, or I'd offer them up. There are places around there that are worth the money, and some that are not so much.

                  Like someone else asked, budget?
There are plenty of places to hunt right now if he wants something other than Texas white tail.

And leases by himself can end up a nightmare. You end up one dude on a lease of people you have never met. Unless he is outgoing, and the people on the lease are decent, it SUCKS!

Not really going by one but I'm thinking more of a weekend thing. He is on call for work and doing a year lease would probably not be beneficial. I dont know what a week or weekend trip would cost so i cant really put a budget together yet. Obviously i want the best bang for the buck lol.

We live in Houston so prefferably something in South Texas. He would be going by himself since i dont want to pay for a buddy so I'm thinking a trip would be better.

Ash, my brother has a lease about 3 hours west of DFW and is doing guided hunts now. If that interests you, let me know and I'll send you his number.

If you want him to bag a nice trophy buck, something to hang on the wall and brag about, it can cost upwards of 2500-2800 for some Axis. The guides should let him know which animals do not fall within the price range you paid for.
