I think that I've only been one time at the one on Coit near Park. I think I was going to cars and coffee and I bought a cup of java and few donuts, I was not impressed.

I know a good donut when I see it, and dunkin donuts doesn't have them. X2 on the little asian shops, we have one in Ennis. Also, lol @ the shops calling sausage rolls kolaches.
When I was a kid we had one in Duncanville but it went out of business when I was around 10 or so. It is now a Popeyes chicken I think. I can not even remember if they had good donuts or not.
When I go to get donuts I expect there to be an asian lady there who greets me 9 times within the first 3 seconds of stepping in their shop. Then I expect another asian lady in the back to add at least another 2 or 3 "Uh good morning."

Shipleys, and the rest taste like pre-mix donut mix to me, and overly sweet premade glaze.
At least Shipley's is unique. Heck, I don't like Krispy Kreme (too much glaze, like a candy shell), but at least they are pretty unique. But you know how opinions are... I'm just surprised anyone actually prefers the Asian places.
I also like sausage kolaches, and the ones at those places blow goats. At least the asian places use homemade dough and a decent sausage.
I'll give you that. I never get those form Shipley's, because the donuts are so good that I don't have room. If I hit an Asian joint, the only thing I like is the sausage rolls. I dig the ones with cheese and jalapeno. And again, they are all the same. I think they all share some kind of Asian recipe. Consistently good, though!
Fuck their donuts, their coffee is pretty bitchin. They have GREAT breakfast sandwiches and bagels as well. I love DD, however we have a place called Sheetz, and their coffee is pretty damned good too.
