Dallas Mom Cut 1-Year-Old's Throat, Police Say
DALLAS - A woman cut her child's throat with a kitchen knife Monday morning and was taken into custody a short time later, Dallas police said.
The 1-year-old girl was rushed to Children's Medical Center from a home on Marchant Circle in the Lake Highlands area in East Dallas.
The child's condition is not yet known.
Police responded to the initial call call at 6:37 a.m.
A man who says he is a cousin of the accused mother says other relatives had called Children's Protective Services before, trying to get custody of the girl.
