I am truly pleased seeing first-hand what it's like to live in the second most expensive city in the US ... but fuck I knew this coming into it. I ran it through the calculator and I can take a 47% paycut and have the same lifestyle in Dallas. Hell, the place right across from us that's similar to our place (1600 sq feet, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 floor of a 4 floor building) just went on the market for $1.1MM. Not to mention the 10% state income tax and $2200 a month for my baby's daycare. Fuck it, I've had enough - trying to get back to Dallas. (end rant)

It truly is, that's no shit. We've had a phenomenal 18 months here, it was without question the right move for my career. Of course, you make a lot more $ here, but now with the baby and no family around, the high cost of everything is another excuse for me to talk myself out of this place. Rent and daycare alone cost me $65,000 a year. It's fucking cold here ... and I just saw my 1040 and the taxes I paid ... fuck this place. Excellent place to visit, or live for a couple years ... I don't see how people spend much more than that here.

They do suck, but they are signed by an officer who reviewed the video, or at least mine was. I go one in Watauga, and two in Phoenix. One of the ones in Phoenix was from a fake Saguaro cactus. That one sucked on two fronts.

San Fran is one of my favorite cities in the US. There is just no chance in hell I could ever justify, let alone realistically swing, living there. I will go back as often as possible though. 47%, GodDAMN.

We also just got back from spending 10 days in Dallas, so I'm even more geared to get back. Fucking phenomenal, good friends every night, looking at huge fucking houses that now seem dirt cheap to me, warm weather. Landed last Sunday and it was 44 degrees here with a 30 mph wind. Fuck.

When Danny and I swung through there in September, I was pissed at the downtown hotel room we paid nearly $200 for had no AC. Then Danny told me to open the window. Oh. lmao

Yeah, our place has no AC. I haven't been in a residence in the actual city that does. Fuck - my wife, our 70 lb lab, and I were holed-up in a 450 sq foot corporate housing unit for 6 weeks when we first moved here. No ac, of course, so open the windows. Problem was it was right next to a fucking emergency room... sirens all night. It was actually 90 degrees here for much of that 6 weeks, I was ready to kill somebody.

Damn, my ass would have been at the local Home Depot/Lowes getting a window a/c unit. I can't believe the price on that 1600sqft home, thats crazy. For that amount you can live in a 10,000 sqft home on the golf course here, lol!
