Anyone have any good sites for classics? I always am just looking at cars for sale and like to look at the old ones. I would like to start learning more about them, as I really only know shit about fox cars. Preferably would like a site that has a good classified section

How much?

$12k and it needs work. Its going up on ebay this weekend. Its an original 351w 4spd candy apple red car. I have a ton of new parts still in the package. Somewhere in the tune of $5-6k waiting to go on it.

little advice when it comes to a classic.

Its better to spend more money now for a good running/driving car. Its going to cost double what you think it will to fix it up, triple the amount of time. Not many bodyshops will work on old cars and those shops that do often put your project on the backburner when it comes to it vs insurance work.

x2. Recently I found 2 1966 fastbacks that looked really good in the 22k to 25k range. The only problem is I don't know the problem areas to look for on those cars since I've never owned one.

ALWAYS look for a solid body. Everything else is fixable by most people at home. Rust in the quarter panels, rocker and the cowl vent areas. Rust is the #1 problem. Replacing brakes, transmission, etc can all be done at home. Bodywork will cost you an arm and a leg.

There has been a ton of work put into it. Im hoping to get some decent money for it. That was the car that went to a bodyshop in Keller that plagued me. Sat at his shop for 11 months before it got painted. Then the owner got on here threatening me and what not. It was a mess. Ever since then, I have lost motivation on that car.

lol... if it was that easy. And it has sat there for the last few years untouched. I have been really busy with school/work. Getting my degree and a real job has been more important than working on cars. Im currently working 60 hours a week and bridging from my RN to BSN. My bachelors degree should be done by August or so...Then to start a masters degree.

Thanks for the sites and advice. I would like to learn enough to be a potential buyer in a few years...loss of reading ahead of me. I was thinking a solid start would be best and paying more up front, unless I develop more patience
