I had my left big toe nail permanently removed. The infection and resulting pain before I had it done was excruciating. The smell was awful, too.

This was 10 years ago. They didn't have shit to keep the nail from growing back, so I had to soak it every morning and evening, and then take a fucking toothbrush and scrub the fleshy goo off that formed each day where the nail
used to be. Just touching that raw area sent searing pain up my leg all the way to the back of my neck. It wanted to grow back, so after my first follow up visit the doc told me I wasn't scrubbing hard enough. Fuck!!! I had to bite down on a towel and scrub it hard like that twice a day for weeks. The pain was so bad it almost wasn't worth it. I was eating Lortabs like skittles. It finally stopped trying to grow back, healed, and now I have 9 toenails. I wish I had zero. What a worthless part.

The only pain that I've experienced that comes close is a severely infected wisdom tooth.
