Yup everything that moves and winds up on the shelf has to get moved with that fuel and will increase in price to cover the increase.

His plans have backfired and have backed the US into a corner - we now have sky high energy costs, a bunch of green energy companies that have gone belly up (usually after paying the execs ridiculous bonuses), an economy in the toilet and unable to recover, and most importantly slipping ratings in an election year - not the green utopia Obama expected. Obama and Steven Chu are now backpedaling as fast as they can, and doing as much damage control as possible.

        Whoops.

I will acknowledge that I don't follow politics in the least, but I am a bit confused about the "sky high" energy costs. Natural gas is extremely low, and linked to that, so are electricity costs. Gas and petroleum products have started to go up, but just recently, and no higher yet than they have reached before the current administration was even in office.

LOL wow what a fucking democrat mouthpiece you are. Just because Obama says those numbers, doesn't mean they're true. As a matter of fact, they're completely wrong. People like you are the reason we're in this trouble. Because you believe everything this administration tells you. I want you to do some research yourself, and find out why they are wrong.

Gas prices were $1.74 when Obama took office. Natural Gas is being produced in mass because much of their drilling locations are on private land, which the government cannot interfere with. Because of that there is a large supply, therefore prices drop. The problem with Fuel prices is Canada and South/North Dakota have proven the ability to extract fossil fuels from shale and oil sands. They've projected we have 70 years of fuel in the US at minimum and that is taking into account our consumption remains the same (which it has dropped in the last several years). The problem is the majority of the shale is on government land, and Obama refuses to allow drilling and oil production. Obama's administration has completely banned new site licenses for off-shore and land based drilling. So essentially all of our supply that isn't currently operating on a government approved contract is nonexistent. As this continues we will increase our dependence on foreign oil with every passing month. This increases our fuel prices. Right now the momentary increase in fuel prices is in part due to retooling at refineries switching to the summer blend of fuel, it causes a momentary spike in fuel costs. However, the hormuz threats from Iran and the Israel tensions have added to it. Generally, the truth is the Obama moratorium on drilling permits will cause our fuel prices to increase. The Obama administration has gone on record stating it is their goal to cause fuel prices to rise. 3 members of his cabinet (including Obama himself) have stated they want fuel prices to rise. The sad thing is some of the very best drilling/petroleum experts are location right here in this country, and they are completely unable to produce the fuel we badly need because of the Obama administration's politics. As far as the Keystone pipeline, it's a requirement for the oil Canada plans to produce that it must travel to the US's refineries. They are located in Texas City and south Texas in general. The pipeline must pass over government land, which he is blocking and denying it to be ran. They have tried to change it's course around government land, however the Obama administration has blocked that as well due to a conspicuous interstate commerce clause. Essentially Canada and the US partner is waiting to see if Obama get's thrown out of office so they can get the approval to make the pipeline, if he is re-elected they will sell the oil to China.

It's actually a refining issue. We're exporting our excess. If we could refine more prices would come down.

On the prices, it costs more than you realize. My tank holds 29 gallons, and right now I'm spending an additional $20 each time I fill up. Once a week on average, so I'm spending an additional $1000 a year on fuel.

                Not bitching, just saying.

                  LMFAO! "People are dumb".

That's priceless when you just got called out for repeating obsamas talking points, which aren't factual, and which you obviously believed.

After not doing any research to check their validity.

Let me ask you a question. A very simple one. Why would they export oil and not sell it domestically?

The only problem with extracting oil from oil rich sand is the cost to do so is not profitable unless oil is over $100 a barrel.

I agree with all your other points.

I say drill, drill, drill and drill. I have been to oil rich countries. UAE was a fucking barren desert until we (THE USOFMOTHERFUCKINGA) discovered oil there and made them filthy fucking rich. In 50 years they have gone from living in a tent in the desert to building the most expensive hotels in the world. From riding a camel to driving Ferrari's. We did that for them so they could charge us $100 a barrel.

Fuck them, pull all our companies back to the US, drill here, leave them to fend for themselves and stop buying their oil unless they sell it to us for LESS than we can extract, refine and package to the good ole American's.

                          AMERICA!!

Quick trivia/party question you guys can steal:

From which country does the United States import the most oil?

Canada and yes I'm that big of a dork

That was true in 2008. Currently they are at a $60-75 per barrel unit cost benefit. Hence the reason for the Keystone pipeline, and the Bakken field's projections of $1.99-2.50 a gallon fuel that you hear Newt talking about. They believe if production is ramped up they can get it to $50 a barrel profitability. This is the whole reason a lot of people are pissed off at the Obama administration. The technology is here to due this, they just have no where to send the shit. China is begging for exclusivity..and if Obama is reelected, they'll get it.
