I found my lab and another stray dog eating my neighbor's chihuaha canibal style, cost me about $1 in ammo and 3 minutes with a shovel.

Yeah, they will pretty much put an animal down for any reason. I rescued the sweetest cat from that fate. Owner had just moved house, cat didn't know where it's litter box was and was peeing in the floor, so the woman just decided to put it down. Already declawed and extremely loving. I happened to be at the vet that day and they gave him to me rather than kill it. Woman had the nerve to call me wanting the cat back, I told her too damn bad and I gave the cat away to a loving family.

Had to put my cat down because of tongue cancer. Cost like $25.

I had a Manx cat that had the inherited Spina bifida disease. Vet gave us the choice of putting it down and said it would be fine to live out the rest of its life as long as we could put up with it making a mess. We knew he was miserable so we opted to have him put down.
