I've got a couple of options I'm mulling. I've got a buddy with some heeler pups on the way. I'd damn sure make him housebreak it for me before I took one, though. Another option is another Rat Terrier. I've had a bunch of those in my life, and my last one was the greatest dog known to man. He was the best companion dog ever, and fearless when I put him to work (small game hunting with a smart terrier is pretty rewarding). Any other breeds I should think about? I probably can't get anything too big, maybe a border collie at the largest. It'd have to be apartment trainable, and be a breed that doesn't have too many health risks. What say ye, DFWMustangs?

I know you bird hunt so i vote Vizsla. Males weight about 50-60lbs. But after re-reading your post and seeing you live in a apartment, i wouldn't recommend that breed. I also bred Yorkies for 5 years and love them dogs. They're a hunting breed too.You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

I have a husky that I'm willing to loan out. He's a pussy magnet.
