if you take the sedative, then you must have a ride. you have an option to not take a sedative but again it's probably in your best interest to take the sedative so you dont flip out with a laser in your eye.
I wasn't bothered by the laser, it was the thing that gets mashed into your orbital when they suck your eyeball up and cut the corneal flap that tripped me out.

Been 10 years plus ago. Best money ever spent. But it freaked me the hell out. Would not want to do it again. LOL

Right before he cuts the eye, he said "What ever you do, don't move" I am thinking WTF? Strap my fucking head down or something. That fucking half a pill you gave aint doin shit. He said the same thing when working the lazer.

Technology must have changed in 6 years. He said after the surgery, I could go to work, and drive home that day.

Give me the WHOLE pill, I'm a big guy.

"After the surgery" may not mean immediately after. You will be groggy and it is highly suggested to sleep just following the procedure. I've seen three different doctors and they all said the same thing regarding what to do just after having this done.

yes, you can. But I doubt the requirement to constantly apply eye drops has changed. I found that to be the biggest hindrance to getting on with a normal routine.

edit: that's what I meant by taking a few days off. It's just hard to keep up with the eye drops if you are involved in other things.

                  2. Is it ok to drive right after or do you have to get someone to pick you up for first 24 hours?
                  25 like Mo said.

I was told to keep my eyes closed as long as possible. I did not take the sedative so I would have been fine to go to work, but if I can't see I'm pretty useless. Even then my vision was still VERY foggy right afterwards and I would not have felt comfortable driving. I went home and watched (listened) to a couple of movies, went to bed and was back at work like nothing happened the next day (although I looked like someone in 28 Days Later). I had no issues doing the drops at work.

I did get miles for it, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss, but the net difference in miles vs. tax saved still cost me quite a bit.

You guys are scaring the crap outta me. I was going to try and use my flex fund account next year to do this. $2900 would only be $111 out of each of my paychecks...very doable...I hate contacts.

I drove to dinner the night I had it.

I did 0% financing for 2 years and paid it off in installments fairly quickly. Still best money ever spent.

Ni66a you still owe me for that wagon load of Roman sluts I delivered to you and the rest of you faggot friends at the fish-N-wine party, after you bullshitted your way into that, "I'm gonna go help Simon Peter catch a metric fuck-ton of fish" fiasco.

My wife and I both had lasik done this past January. We're both VERY happy and wished we would've done it earlier.
Used Dr.Booth on recommendations from a couple of friends and several coworkers. I had some noticeable nighttime headlight/streetlight starburst effects while driving, with intensity of the effect varying in certain vehicles. I'm guessing the angle of the windshield, lighting, & lasik combined for a more intense effect. After 3 months, the starburst effect pretty much went away. It's gone completely as of today.
I have noticed my eyes are a little more susceptible to drying out in my home this winter from the heat. I had to start using eye drops once every two days or so because of it.
