  • Home Depot in Rockwall closed indefinately

Wow, last weekend I saw they were closed and had the parking lot closed off and all this week too. I understand they had some water main break inside the store or something that caused the sprinkler system to come on and flooded the place. All the merchandise was soaked! That would be about as bad as a store in a hurricane or other disaster. They will have to inventory, figure out what they can liquidate, and who knows when it will be open again. Talk about loosing a lot of money. Not only that but all the people that work there won't have jobs for a while.

I bet all of them can come in and work cleanup. When Katrina and Rita hit the gulf coast, all those people worked night and day on cleanup, and they let others come in from out of town and help.

I was wondering what on earth happened. I tried to go on Tuesday and saw they had the parking lot coned off, couldn't read the signs other then "store closed".

Sucks for them. I usually prefer going there over Lowes.

It happens when I was working at Academy we had a couple of sprinklers malfunction and go off over night between the shoes and apparel. Had to close down for about 48hrs to clean up, I think the total lose on merchandise was 100k+ and that was just two or three sprinklers for about 5 hours.

When the water flows on those systems it's supposed to trip the fire alarm within a minute, and bring the ladder boys who could have shut it down. It sure doesn't add up as to why it ran so much for so long and went unnoticed. Fire monitoring failed them for sure.

depends on which side of the backflow it happened on.
