  • Another pit bull attack thread!

A Dallas police officer shot and killed one of two dogs that attacked the officer and a man in a wheelchair in Oak Cliff.

A Dallas police officer shot and killed one of two dogs that attacked the officer and a man in a wheelchair in Oak Cliff on Thursday afternoon.

Police said two pit bulls surrounded a man in a wheelchair and took a bite of his knee. Investigators said the dogs then turned their attentions toward the officer.

“Both dogs turned on the officer," Deputy Chief Jesse Reyes said. "One of them actually bit the officer in the leg."

The officer fired his weapon, killing one of the dogs.

John Perez called 911 about the two dogs, who were on prowl in his neighborhood near West 12th Street and Llewellyn Avenue.

“They started attacking people left and right, even the vehicles -- when they were going by, they started attacking the vehicles,” he said.

One of the dogs got away.

“I wish both of them would of gotten killed, instead of somebody else getting killed,” Perez said.

He said he has seen the dogs roaming in the alley behind his house for several weeks.

“I knew it was going to happen sooner or later," Perez said. "I just didn't know when."

The police officer and the other victim were treated at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.

Police are working to identify the dogs’ owner. Investigators said no one has come forward so far to claim the animals.

i'm gonna have to hear the other side of the story from the dead pit bull before i make a comment............
DALLAS - It took bullets to save a man in a motorized scooter from a pit bull attack in Oak Cliff.

The man was crossing a street when two pit bulls started biting him Thursday afternoon. The dogs then bit a Dallas police officer who got involved.

The officer shot and killed one of the dogs and the other ran away.
Scooter or wheelchair? But yeah they need to find the other dog and kill it. I hate these stupid ass pit bull owners.

He had witnessed the dogs for several weeks with no supervision and didn't make a call in about it? yes it's the dog owners fault but when you have a pot at a running boil take it off the stove before it boils over..

They were probably strays that were hungry. Amimals will resort to....well, animal things when they need food. Anyone see the 2 katrina pits that were trying to take down eat a cow.

I would never own a pitbull, but I would say 90-95% of pit owners are retards who think it's cool to have a badass mean aggressive dog. Fuck that!

I grew up in that area and I was on my way to my mom's house when it had just went down. Popo had the whole intersection blocked. There's a senior living building about two blocks from that intersection and it's common to see seniors on their hoverounds and such making the trek to the opposite side of the intersection where there are restaurants and shopping centers. Sucks that that happened. I would of thought someone would of got ran over before bit by a dog.

In reality, the percentage is not that high. There are a ton more responsible pit owners than most realize.
