I hit World Market as well for picking out beer.

Hall's is pretty decent, but I think they actually had to cut back the beer inventory when they split the store once they got their liquor sales. I forgot about World Market since boycotting them a few years back. I wouldn't mind seeing what all the rage about Spec's is, but that's a hell of a drive.

My friend who works for Republic Beverage Company says Centennial owes them 15 mill. Stupidity on both ends, they kept shipping Centennial on 'credit' for a while.

The new Goody Goody in Colleyville is cheaper than anyone around and has a much larger selection of hooch.

The owner of those stores is a family aquaintance, he may be trying to rehabilitate is drug addict kid by letting him run the stores again.....

That's crazy about Centennial getting cut off - I bet there are all kinds of shady characters in that industry. Like, nasty shady.

I think it really depends on what you're looking for. I've noticed that 750ml's of Knob Creek, Maker's, Jim Beam White and Black label, and a few other bourbon's are anywhere from $1-$3 cheaper a bottle compared to Majestic, at regular price. Their beer, on the other hand, is $1-$2 higher per 6 pack on the micro-brew/specialty stuff. I like going to Hall's. My only complaint that I mentioned earlier is that they lost some beer selection when they split the building up.

Yep. I was really surprised to see them go. Once Majestic bought them, I figured the only way they could go was up. Then, gone.



That place is nice, but out of the way compared to what I'm used to and they are a bit high. If Majestic goes under, I'll be going there or most likely just stopping at Hall's on the way home before I take my chances at Sun Valley.

Their Crown is $5-$10 more per handle than Holiday, which was where I used to shop. That's really all I buy on a regular basis.

I was at my local Majestic the other night browsing for specials and noticed things looked a bit different but couldn't quite put my finger on it. I cruise on to the bourbon section and notice they are completely out of Knob Creek 750ml and Jim Beam white label 1.75ml. They both had Crown Card special tags in front of them, but they were flipped around backwards. Knob Creek was on sale for $24.95 which is a damn good price. I chalked up the short inventory to the items being on sale and kept on browsing. As I moved on I noticed that the shelves were curiously neat, but not stocked very deep.

The next night I stop by a different location to try and grab some Knob Creek at the sale price and they are out too. Their store looks normal, but it's also a brand new location.

Tonight, I stop by yet a different location to find it in even more sparing condition than the first and again, out of Knob Creek. I grab something else, head to the counter and ask the guy what's up with the KC and he hesitates to tell me that they owe some vendors a lot of money and have essentially been cut off, which explains a lot of the sparsely stocked shelves neatly arranged to "appear" that everything is normal.

It's gonna suck if they go under. They've already closed one location by my place and the other is just a stone's throw away. I've always liked them and it's been quite convenient doing business there. I can understand the other end of it though as well. People don't pay me, I cut them off.

Centennial bought Majestic and was closing locations.

I hate Centennial. Majestic always had Franziskaner Hefeweizen for $9.95 per 12 pack. now it's $16!

Not much, but so far everything I really like is really expensive so I wait for it to go on sale before I buy it.
