So I've been looking for a job for a while now, and unless you wanna work fast food it seems that if you have a DWI, you're fucked. I got one over a year and a half ago, convicted late last year. Mind you, there is differed adjudication and you can be issued an order of non-disclosure (won't show up on background check) for kidnapping and assault. But not for a DWI. You're literally fucked for 5 years for some places and up to 10 years for others.

Hell I have applied to over a 1000 jobs in the last 5 months or so. I have a clean record and all kinds of qualifications and can't find shit. Thank god my job has not relocated. Looks like I might have to go to Houston afterall.See you later...Comment

Yeah, I know good people who do it and have been convicted.
Still does not excuse anything and like posted above - a person with a conviction vs one without and you're likely going to choose the one w/o.

Why don't you volunteer for MADD? It would look good on your resume and would show your potential employer how serious you really are about learning from your mistakes. It would show great character.
