One of the more positive experiences Urbany said he had at Walter Reed was when the Washington Capitols hockey team donated equipment for the soldiers there to start their own team.

Also, its not like his kids are old enough to understand Christmas and they wouldnt know if Santa doesnt come.
I kind of agree with the above. However, my hats off to this guy for his service. I suffer from PTSD and have been to mandatory job related PTSD classes, but I still work(now in another field).

However, I can't imagine losing an eye. Would be very traumatic. I wish him all the best. And do not mean to come across as being insensitive in any way.

My wife talked to his, she's still breast feeding so formula isn't needed, but diapers are. They're good on baby wipes too. Like most infantry guys, he has a ton of it

Yeah, the wife and I decided to send diapers and gender neutral toys instead of money. Not that we care too much, but we're softies for kids now since we had our own and either way it is saving them money.

As a matter of fact, they were aside from $9 I spent because I felt so god damn guilty

Unless the equipment was donated to the team and not to him.

Either or sounds like you donated some necessities, kudos, you grinch-ass motherfucker.

Yeah yeah. Scumbags hide behind uniforms as well(not saying this guy is as I dont know him). This is the time of year they all put on their sad faces and woe is me attitudes and dupe people into giving. After all, it's the season of giving. He was injured 5yrs ago. It sucks, but thats plenty enough time to get his shit figured out. It's like stray animals...you may feed one but its not to help the animal, it's to clear your conscience. "Whelp, I did my part to help that poor animal. The rest can fend for themselves...." Even if there are more deserving out there. But, just so I dont get labeled a heartless asshole, I am sending some necessities. If you send money, thats your choice.

Yes, he's been out for 5 years. It was only within the last couple of weeks (I believe) he lost his job and his wife was in a car accident and he didn't ask for help. I did. He doesn't know anything is going on, he confided in me about some issues he was having, soldier to soldier and I decided to try to help.
