He is able-bodied so he needs to get a job. Also, its not like his kids are old enough to understand Christmas and they wouldnt know if Santa doesnt come.
I thought the same thing too, but am putting some stock in another stranger's word (forever_frost) that the man may need additional support this year.

Hell, regardless - he lost an eye and so forth for us and I'll give a little just for that. I only give to veteran type things and I've been slacking this year, so why not?

Your last sentence is sad but true. Still, people donate millions to other causes where money is wasted. At a minimum I know this guy lost an eye from serving in the military, enough for me in this case.

Jim, if you say he is deserving, that's good enough for me brother.
Sent him $25, wish I could have afforded more.

I will stick to donating to families that lose their bread winner to unfortunate circumstances.
Forever-Frost, does either of them smoke cigarettes? People making dobations should be aware if the money they are giving is going to support their nasty habits.

I'm usually the first to be skeptical, but he's a fellow combat vet and I spent quite a bit of time with him last week in DC. He didn't get his car demolished until this weekend and he's been out job hunting. As everyone knows, not easy in this environment to find one, add in PTSD and such it gets even harder but he's still looking. He's not one of those guys who just waits around for things.

And he doesn't know I'm even doing this, didn't ask for a hand out or hand up, but I know when a brother is on hard times and this is close to home as I've been in his boots.

I can't say I saw either of them smoking while we were in DC so I'm going to go with no. If you're not wanting to put cash in, then I'm betting diapers would be appreciated.

Looks like his injury was in 2005. Why isnt he getting disability from the govt?

How old are the kids again? Not sure I saw that posted. Got all kinds of stuff from my twins that we maybe able to send too. Diapers, bottles and so forth.

x2 on the address thing if you have it.

Edit: Of course, I'd probably not use stuff from strangers on my kids. Diapers from a sealed box are a little different though.

One is 8 weeks and the oldest is 16 months. Talking to the wife who is in contact with his wife. Neither of them have any idea this is going on. I don't have their address, I haven't needed it so I didn't obtain it.

He has a VA rating, but he's been working which is why it isn't set up to cover him while he's out of work.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I pretty much emptied my "let's do stupid stuff" fund for this one which wasn't much but...hey Christmas.
