chicken pox

The poison ivy/itching thread reminded me of when I was 17 and got chicken pox, it was fucking horrible, I had that shit for around three weeks, even had it in my mouth. Constant itching from head to toe, painful, and ended up with quite a few scars from it.

Has anyone else caught it as an adult?

I got it the Sunday after spring break when I was a senior in HS. Other than the extra week off, it sucked.

If I'm not mistaken if you get it as an adult it's a lot worse. Lets just hope you don't get it.

I had that shit all over my body. I had three that were huge and in a line on the top of my head. I felt like a fucking Badass mother fucking Dinosaur though.

I had chicken pox when i was in 5th grade... but before it popped up I crashed and burned over the handle bars of my bike.. 28 stiches in the chin, elbows all road rashed and days later got the pox..

I was around 5 when I got it. I was also a ring bearer in my cousins wedding at the same time. I've got pictures of me rockin' a tux, the pox, and a bowl haircut all at once!!!

It is, a lot worse. It really hit my immune system hard, I had a few of the sores get infected and scar like a bitch. The only thing that would come close to helping was taking a shower.

Got it in elementary school. At that age I used to get poison ivy, oak, or summac about twice a year so it wasn't a big deal. I don't even remember it bothering me. I only remember staying home from school and playing all day.

I got it when I was a young kid, and I don't recall it being pleasant, but it wasn't horrible either. From what I hear of adult pox, fuck that nonsense.

Mine happened in the summer, I almost lost my job over it since my boss thought I was bullshitting him until I showed up for work looking like I had leprosy. The odd thing was my mom told me I had it as a baby. I had always heard you only get it once in your life, but my doc said it was chicken pox. I know it sucked, I was actually sick PLUS had the itching to go with it. I spent hours in the shower everyday just to not scratch constantly.

That's what i've heard. I sure hope I don't get it, but there is an immunization for it that I can get if need be.
