And don't burn me at the stake...

One of my recent threads was in regards to how well everyone has been doing job wise. Seems to me that the overwhelming majority is kicking ass pretty good. Stores are hiring more employees, OT is now back in our vocabulary and the stock market has been doing really well.

Usually after a President takes office, it takes about 3/5 years for what they set into place to take effect. We are at about 4 with the newly elect.

OK...here it goes...Have we possibly been wrong? Does our current government know how to stimulate the economy? Signs point to yes, but I am still struggling to believe that Oboma has anything to do with this. But you have to admit, the numbers look great.

Well if you have money to pay for the internet, you'd probably be ok. Not to mention, we're in better shape than most. My father is unemployed for the second time in two years now, so he's not as well as most here, though he does still have the internet.
How do we forget ourselves? How do we forget our minds?

I think a little bit has something to do with a new POTUS. But the majority of it nope.

I would NOT say everyone is kicking ass, more like it is just not as bad as it has been in the last 3 years.

The problem is that its such a small portion of the population in mostly 1 portion of 1 state. A state which has always seemed to keep its head above water. I don't personally think its enough information to blame the president one way or the other.

The defense industry hasn't taken their hit yet. There will be another big round of layoffs unless we land some really substantial international stuff.

Agreed, and is why I said "overwhelming majority."

                    Something is working though.

Exactly what is working? Name one original idea or policy that the Obama administration has put in place that has stimulated any sort of economic growth? The very best you can say is "infrastructure projects" but those ideas were put in motion before Bush left office and are standard fare for any recession any way. So he gets half credit on that. Besides that I can't think of one thing. Deficit spending? Show me a politician that doesn't love to spend.

The guy, as of now, is campaigning on "raise taxes on the rich". That is all he has to talk about. When someone has to campaign on the idea of class warfare, that should tell any reasonable person that there is nothing else to talk about because their record is so poor. He can't talk about unemployment, green energy, the price of oil, his healthcare plan or much of anything else. This fall he'll go around telling everyone how Romney is an "out of touch rich guy" while forgetting he is a liberal Ivy league law professor with no experience in government.

Fact is, the American economy is recovering because it is the American economy. It has been resilient because this country works at a fundamental level, not because of what one politician can do. In this case, it has recovered in spite of what Obama has done.

And the stock market has more to do with the way sheep act than with economic progress.

But I'm talking to a wall here, guys like you will re-elect him. And it won't matter as long as the Republicans take back the Senate.

This is why I'm asking. Not so I can find a excuse to vote for him. Personally I hate the guy and wish he had never even ran. Much less win. But this is a strange event happening at a bad time for us Republicans.

And remember, I ended my thread post with, "school me."

Also I didnt say that Obama did anything. Only that this is happening under our present goverment.
