If I have kids, I will give them a vehicle to use for 8 months, then make them buy their own. Its what my parents did. In 8 months they can afford their own junk car.

We've talked about giving my Bronco to my son when he turns 16 this summer.. Still deciding though.

I think it's more like 7 months. Well, 6.7333 months to be precise.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

If my future progeny is/are dumb enough to want a rattling, slow, gas chugging piece of shit then I'll be more than happy to supply the kid with something like what I got. I've still yet to get a real ticket or in an accident and was fairly responsible about the stupid shit I did with my car when I first got it, so I don't have the petrifying fear of my child being irresponsible with whatever he winds up with that pervades this board. Parenting goes a long way in determining how your kid treats the shit you give them.

I don't agree with this at all. The FOX is the classic hot rod of our time. It's what resurrected the Mustang from the slum it was in from '71-'78. I've said it before, our kids or kid's kids for that matter will be lusting about building a FOX like we did over '32 roadster and the such. Foxes are timeless, just like the classic muscle that WE drool over at the local car show or swapmeet.

Although my son and daughter show no interest in cars at the moment I long for the day they ask me if I can help them build one just like mine.

With the help of Greenbullit my car has gone from less than being a roller to a complete running car,
93lxhorse is going to help me sort out my wiring issue
With the help of a couple people and Brooks I'm learning how to weld

All that being said I hope my car makes it for my daughter, she is currently 4 and shows a lot of interest and will sit in the car with me while I work on it.
Obviously this car means a lot to me so I would love to pass it on to her.

Now my issue is just Wednesday we had our second daughter, so I'm wondering if I will have to build another if she likes the car too? Wife quickly said no but that's to be determined.

I kind of get your point, and that is really why I have kept this car. Just because it really is a classic now and it will be cool to drive the older it get.

I just wonder how readily available parts will be that far into the future.

I wouldn't worry about that. The Mustang has one of the largest aftermarket following than any other car.

dude they made 11zillion fox bodies. you will be able to find parts long after you give up the ghost.

                          god bless.

You would think, but in the past, finding parts for an 86 aren't always that easy. It is that middle year. It has gotten better in the last couple of years though.
