my buddy sold his FX35 for 17k, buyer came down from Georgia, met my buddy at the bank and made the transaction there. Best and safest way IMO.

Alex does seem to harbor a modicum of bitterness toward police officers, doesn't he?

He's just pissed because he has to watch his wife fuck some other dude. He can't leave her because she is the only one that has a job.

That would do it if anything would.

It's probably difficult to get a job too when you can't pass a drug screen....

I have never sold a car to an individual before, so I am wondering how you keep from getting hosed on the deal and what papers you want to have on hand at the time of sale. I cringe just thinking of some tire kicker going for a test drive just to joy ride or them crashing it during a test drive.

Once you actually get a serious buyer and are ready to do the deal how do you make sure you get the cash? Obviously no personal checks so that pretty much leaves what, bank drafts or money orders? How would you make sure they're real?

Other than pulling the plates when the new owner takes possession of the car, is there a standard bill of sale to use to give them?

That's all I can think of at the moment. I know I am probably making this harder than it should be but I would hate to have a deal turn into a total clusterfuck because I didn't ask any questions.
You really don't need much except to sign the title and the 130-U form and take your plates. Bill of sale is optional for your own records and for them. As for joyriders, nothing pisses me off worse. I have found that they aren't near as likely to dog your shit if you are in the car with them. On a normal gas saver or something, I will let the buyer test drive alone, but not on my performance cars.

Private seller transaction is very easy, just fill out your title properly and get your cash.

No, if I decide to sell it, it will be as it is. Unless you wanna count the pair of stock GT wheels with my drag tires on them.

Try car max. If you sell yourself put on your low baller armor.
