Yup, been on restriction for awhile here in Sachse. It's kind of lost it's emphasis lately since we've been on it so long.

Has anyone looked into the western U.S. lately? A few states will be bone dry within 10 years, and the "bathtub ring" look around Lake Mead is really alarming.

They are dividing the town into 6 sections and assigning a day to each one where you are allowed to hand water from 6pm-8pm and that is it for the week. Also if you use more than 10k gallons in a month the price jumps from $3.90 for 1k gallons to $20 per 1k gallons.

What kind of restrictions is DFW looking at?
Something along those lines should be adopted anywhere that has mandatory water restrictions. Stick it to their wallets and they'll start listening.

What kills me about all these water restrictions is driving around at night going to the gym and water runnng every damn where from shopping centers, city buildings, and everything else. Maybe they should check on their own stuff before worrying about mine. I agree lawns are secondary to having a water supply but when the ones bitching are the biggest violators. I will get some pictures when they start watering heavy again for the summer. When you ride a motorcycle alot you notice water streaming everywhere across four lanes of traffic as it is a bit of a safety hazard when its bone dry out.

I take care of the properties, and work 5 days a week, plus side work, and having a life, my grandma owns, it equals about 10 acres + of mowing at 4 different locations, so it doesn't bother me to not have to now as much, I so feel for the farm and ranch owners during drought periods, and feel bad for everyone that spend big bucks sodding there yards. I let God take care of my watering needs as He sees fit.

Haha actually if i didn't have the most annoying neighbor across the street it wouldn't have tipped me to the point if wanting to report it.

Many either have exemptions or use reclaimed water. Just because you see sprinklers running doesn't mean it's coming from the water system. You are correct though that there are lots of violators.

Half my yard is semi dead from last year. Thought about reseeding and planting Bermuda and st Augustine plugs to try and get it back. Now I think it'll just be a waste of money.
