Is there anything there? I am looking for beaches to go to etc but the closest thing I see is Galveston which is 2 hour drive from there. I can't find much on google and when I zoom into google maps, it looks like a ghost town near the ocean. No buildings, piers, etc..

Bryan and Surfside beach are near there. Great fishing around there, not so great beaches, but you can drive right up to the surf and hang out.
